Allowing remote MySQL database access

  Web Hosting

Step 1. Obtain the IP of the service:

If you wish to use your MySQL database on other services (such as Minecraft servers or services hosted elsewhere) you will need to allow access to your database.
If your service is a Minecraft server then this is the IP of your server.
If you have services hosted elsewhere ask the host what the IP is.

Step 2. Whitelisting the IP:

Go to the web hosting panel and log-in. Head to ‘Databases’ -> ‘Remote MySQL’

Enter the IP of your service into the ‘Host’ box and optionally add a comment stating where the IP is from.
