How to Breed Villagers in Minecraft for a Trading Hall
To build a large trading hall, you need many villagers. You cannot just create them from nothing. You must breed existing villagers. Breeding villagers is a specific mechanic that requires certain conditions. This guide explains how to breed villagers safely and efficiently for your trading operations.
Villagers will not breed automatically. You must meet three conditions:

Trading is the easiest way to make villagers willing. Every time you trade with a villager, they become willing for a short time. However, this is not sustainable for mass breeding. The better method is to provide food.
When villagers breed, a baby villager is born. Baby villagers cannot trade. They will grow up into adult villagers after 20 minutes. You can speed up this process by giving them food, but it is usually faster to just wait. Note that baby villagers have a chance to become Nitwits.
In Bedrock Edition, this chance is 10%. In Java Edition, Nitwits cannot be bred directly, but baby villagers can still become Nitwits as they grow up. Nitwits cannot trade, so they are useless for a trading hall.
To breed villagers efficiently, create a dedicated breeding area.
Breeding villagers is essential for expanding your trading operations. By providing food and beds, you can create a self-sustaining population of villagers. This allows you to build a large trading hall without needing to find more villages.
Always ensure you have enough beds and food and be prepared to handle Nitwits.
