In this tutorial, we will show you how to find your Minecraft server’s IP address. This guide is mainly for Minecraft servers hosted on ElixirNode’s affordable minecraft server hosting. Make sure to get a server yourself already if you do not have one! But we will also provide general guides concerning other services or sources of Minecraft server hosting.
Finding The IP
This will require that you have an ElixirNode minecraft server and access to the game panel as such. If you are confused or need help at this point already, please contact us.
- Login to the game panel.
- Head to your Minecraft server by clicking on it from the list.
- You will be prompted to the “Console” page automatically, if you are not already there, just click on “Console” on the left side of the game panel.
- Above the start/restart/stop buttons there’s a section with information regarding your server. There, next to the wifi icon, there is a numerical IP (e.g. 123.456.789.123:25566), click on that IP and use it to login to your server or create a subdomain for free or a domain if your Minecraft server.
There you go! You have found your Minecraft server’s IP address.
Other Services
→ Dedicated Server Hosting / VPS Hosting:
Dedicated or VPS servers provide you more access over your server (e.g. root SSH access), but a number of factors change the way of finding your Minecraft server’s IP, including the type of panel you have installed.
- On your dedicated or VPS server, finding the IP of your server will depend on a number of things including the panel you installed. But generally, the IP of your server is generally the IP of the VPS or Dedicated Server that you have, then the port must be found in the panel that you have it on.
- If you are on pterodactyl panel, you can roughly follow the same steps above for normal ElixirNode minecraft hosting. For multicraft, the IP can also be found on the console page, so try to look for that.
→ Self-Hosted Servers – Windows:
Whilst we do not recommend self-hosting at all, finding the IP with a self-hosted server will similarly depend on a number of factors.
- Generally though, the IP of your network should be the IP of your server assuming no further complexities exist, if they do then you probably know how to find the IP anyway.
- If on Windows, open the “Run” app.
- Type “Cmd” on the run app and then click “Ok“.
- Type “ipconfig” into the console and find the “IPv4 Address” which should be your Minecraft server’s IP.
→ Self-Hosted Servers – MacOS:
- Go to “system settings“.
- Head to the “network” area.
- Click on what network you are currently connected to then click “Details“.
- Copy the “IP Address” value, that should be your Minecraft server’s IP.
- Alternatively and perhaps more easily, open “Terminal” and type “ipconfig” or “ipconfig getifaddr en0” (wifi) or “ipconfig getifaddr en1” (ethernet / wired) to find your IP.
→ Consoles:
Whether it is PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch, generally, to find your Minecraft server’s IP address you will need to navigate to the network area of the settings of any of the respective console devices. This may require you to go into your connection setting’s advanced options. Guides should be available online for each console, including official ones. If it gets really tough, just contact us.
That is how to find your Minecraft server’s IP address, at least for your ElixirNode minecraft server host. If you have any questions or concerns please contact our support, and make sure you have an ElixirNode minecraft server host.
